We look at Enterprise Cafe an inclusive business development support provider/ incubator that trains rural entrepreneurs & Community-Based Organisations (CBOs) to develop a sustainable business enterprise. ECL, was established with the mission, contributes to strengthen the rural economy and accelerating social impact through developing rural based sustainable inclusive Agri-SMEs, benefiting marginalised farmers and women. We are building a better financial ecosystem for small and growing businesses (SGB) in rural Bangladesh. Our business development support (BDS) and fintech solutions (Jogbiyog) gives enterprises the means to operate and manage as a compliant venture that is paramount for its sustainability.
Enterprise Café is a multi-stakeholder initiative that aims to increase access to capital and access to market for small and growing businesses in Bangladesh. We works with diverse stakeholders – including Bank, non-bank financial institutions (NBFI, Insurance company), Micro Finance Institution (MFI), Agri-input seller, Agri extension service provider, National level private sector business organization, Super shop, private funders, NGO, INGO, Angel investors, and venture firm – to accelerate financing solutions and creates market linkage that target SGBs.
We leverages existing community structures in rural areas and teaches them business skills to launch their own sustainable enterprise and creates maximum social impact. We opens up distribution channels through an innovative financing “Lead enterprise led capital plus model” for locally-run sustainable enterprises, which allows rural based enterprises to access affordable finances. Our special focus is given to gender lens investment for facilitating women economic opportunity that promotes women economic empowerment and women leadership. To build economic resilience against the adverse impact of climate change on livelihood is promoted for benefiting vulnerable community in Bangladesh.
In addition of our head office(Dhaka), we are operating the business activities through 4 project/ branch office at Kurigram, Gaibandha, Satkhira and Mymensingh, together, we provide services & support, for profit or not for profit SME, access to training, mentoring and funding opportunities through our “Capital Plus” business solutions model.
Enterprise Café – An inclusive business development & Impact investment facilitator, founded by some highly qualified, national & international level experienced Agri-micro, small & medium enterprise (MSME) development professional, Fintech professionals & SME investment banker(s) in 2016 under the title SME Café BD and it was converted into a private limited company as Enterprise Café Ltd (ECL) in 2018, and obtained incorporation certificate from Registrar of Joint Stock Companies and Firms (RJSC), Dhaka, Bangladesh.
At present, ECL run by total skilled 17 no’s of full time permanent staffs (9 male and 7 female) with 3 contractual technical advisors. We have also several collaboration agreement with different financial institutions (Bank, NBFI-CAPM venture capital finance Ltd. Pragati Insurance Company), Micro Finance Institutions (MFI- Noabikini Ganomukhi Foundation, Satkhira, SKS-Gaibandha and GUK-Kurigram) for promoting access to credit and developing business and technical capacity to smallholders & Agri-MSME for last 2 years.
