This week in The Last Letter, we’ll look over Paul’s shoulder as pens a last letter to his young and much-loved apprentice Timothy. This letter we now know as 2 Timothy in the Bible, is powerful, heartfelt and very personal. Paul shares his last and most important thoughts to guide Timothy in his own life, and in his call to share the gospel and encourage the church. Every word drips with meaning and great love.
In this first sermon, we’ll take a look at why Paul is so focused on making sure Timothy sees forgiveness as a gift and not something to be earned – a lesson Paul has learned a very hard way. We’ll try to understand what Paul means when he tells him to fan “the gift of God” into flames and how we can do that. And we’ll discover the antidote to the timidity and shame we can experience in life.
Do you want to live a life that exhibits power and purpose instead of fear, shame, and timidness? Paul tells Timothy and all of us…how.
