O olmasin, Bu olsun
The father of a young girl, Gülnaz, wishes to marry her to a wealthy but old business man Meshedi Ibad for the financial support from the latter. Gülnaz is in love with Server, a young student who also has feeling for Gülnaz. After a long consideration, Server makes up a plan to save Gülnaz from her destiny. Weddings in Azerbaijan at that times usually proceeded with the couple meeting only after the ceremony. During the ceremony the bride is dressed in a red gown with a veil covering her body completely. Server, dressed as his beloved threatens Meshedi Ibad to write an official letter, stating that he wants to marry Gülnaz’s nanny instead of Gülnaz.
I like this moment of the movie. The brilliant idea of Server to threaten the most valuable thing in a wealthy man’s life – his life. Of course, the gun is not real and the life of Meshedi was never in danger. Also, the song he sings is quite funny and it’s legendary as the movie itself in Azerbaijan.
